France to honour Yash Chopra

Romance in Bollywood has always been defined by Yash Raj Films and the man responsible for this is Yash Chopra.

Chopra is indisputably one of India's most successful filmmakers. He has been associated with more than 40 films, most of which have been successful at the box-office and, arguably, he can be called India's most successful convergence of creativity and administrative genius as a director and producer.

Yash Chopra has a lot of awards to his claim, in addition to that, he has now been bestowed with the `Officier de la Legion d`Honneur`, the highest French distinction, for his contribution to Indian cinema.

The French cinema halls, where his films are being played, will be decorated in a special ceremony at the French Embassy in Paris on July 5.

Earlier this prestige was bestowed upon the likes of late Satyajit Ray, Lata Mangeshkar, and Amitabh Bachchan among other Indian film personalities.

Mr. Jérôme Bonnafont, Ambassador of France to India, would present the award to Yash Chopra at the French Embassy during the official ceremony
