Aamir to take on nephew at box office

Aamir Khan starrers have clashed with various actors in the past, but come October 2 and the actor will battle it out with nephew Imran Khan.

Kidnap, a film by director Sanjay Gadhvi (of Dhoom and Dhoom 2 fame), was initially slated for release on August 21. But the film has been shifted ahead and has now been confirmed for October 2—the same date as the Aamir starrer Ghajini. Incidentally, both films are distributed by Studio 18.

“October 2 [Thursday] happens to be Gandhi Jayanti and it promises to be a long weekend,” said Aman Gill of Studio 18. “It coincides with Id this year and since both Ghajini and Kidnap are action films, we expect a thunderous start for the films.”

So what was Aamir’s reaction to the upcoming uncle-nephew clash? “Of course, we did speak to Aamir about it. And he's pretty excited about it. He feels that two good films can easily co-exist in a week,” Aman said. Expect fireworks on October 2.
